He works alongside an established group at Devenir Aesthetics who have been providing cosmetic dermatology, vein, laser, and injectable treatments to the greater Austin community for over 10 years.

Dr. Patel completed his fellowship training with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) in Houston, Texas and is board-certified with the American Board of Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery (ABOTO). These paths of training complement one another by providing a strong foundation in both the functional and cosmetic aspects of surgery in the head and neck region.

Dr. Patel was valedictorian of his high school and completed undergraduate work at the University of California, San Diego where he was selected for membership to the Caledonian Honor Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Prior to deciding on medicine as a profession, Dr. Patel held professional positions in journalism and software engineering. He then completed medical training at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, earning recognition as a Dean’s Scholar and elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Society. Dr. Patel completed my Head & Neck Surgery residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City, which is the nation’s first specialty hospital. There he helped develop novel research to improve ways to differentiate types of thyroid cancer using minimally-invasive techniques. During that time Dr. Patel also took part in a humanitarian mission to Santa Marta, Colombia to repair cleft lips and palates in children.

In addition to cosmetic surgery, Dr. Patel currently performs major facial reconstructions for disfiguring skin cancer. He is also involved with the National Domestic Violence Project and Faces of Honor components of the Face to Face program developed by the AAFPRS. He provides pro bono consultation and plastic surgery to victims of domestic violence who sustained facial injuries and cannot financially afford treatment, as well as to veterans who were deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan.
